(B) TAXES

Preamble: This charter is an expression of the manner for the proper and reasonable assessment and collection of Municipal taxes on the lands and buildings in the Municipal area.

General Information:
Nagar Panchayat Arki is charging following taxes:-


a)

Nagar Panchayat is charging House tax @ 7.5% of annual ratable value of all the lands and buildings in Municipal Area.

b)

Annual ratable value is determined and finalized after service of proposed assessment notice to the individual owners/ occupiers.

c)

Public notice is also given to the assesses before adopting the assessment lists for the next year.

d)

The assesses are at liberty to file an objection with the municipality against the proposed assessment notice within one month.

e)

Every objection against assessment or amendment of assessment is heard after affording reasonable opportunities of being heard.

Note:- Rebate on the current year tax amount @ 10% will be allowed if the amount will be paid within 15 days.

Registration After 1 Year after birth /Death

Late fee Rs. 5/- with Ist class Magistrate order on stamp paper worth Rs. 3/- in Nagar Panchayat Office.

e)

Registration from 1 to 90 days after Marriage

Free, In the Nagar Panchayat Office.

f)

Registration from 90day to to 1 year after Marriage

In the office of Sub Division Magistrate(Civil) Arki

Arki Town

Arki is a town, tehsil and Nagar panchayat in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, India. The town is famous for its fort built in the late 18th century when Arki was the capital of the erstwhile hill state of Baghal. The Postal Code of Arki is 173208.

About District

Solan District came into existence at the time of the reorganisation of the districts of the State on Ist September, 1972. The District was carved out of Solan and Arki tehsils of the then Mahasu district and tehsils of Kandaghat and Nalagarh of the then Shimla District. Administratively, the district is divided into four Sub-division viz. Solan comprising of Solan and Kasauli tehsils, Nalagarh covers the juridisdiction of Arki and Kandaghat Sub-divisions covers their respective tehsils. The total geographical area of the district according to the Surveyour General of India is 1,936 sq. km. which constitutes 3.49 percent of the total area of the State and ranks 9th amongst the district.

The District is bounded by Shimla district in the North and by Ropar District of Punjab and Ambala district of Harayana in the south, by Sirmaur District in the east and by Bilaspur district in the west. Mandi District touches the boundary of Solan district in norht-east. The shape of the district is rectangualar with slight bulge on the northern side intruding towards Mandi district.It is located between the longitudes 76.42 and 77.20 degree and latitudes 30.05 and 31.15 degree north.
